River Pigs Baseball in Tupper

When ARISE first heard about this effort, the Board realized that it would have a significant economic impact on the community.

Through several meetings with the River Pigs Committee, ARISE has assisted the group in developing a business plan, to apply for community grants, assisted in seeking housing for the players and families, and to provide a conduit for on-going fundraising efforts.

The River Pigs will be debuting in 2020.

Tupper Arts

The Arts Center holds a key position in the uptown business district of Tupper Lake.

The Arts Center Committee approached ARISE about acting as a fundraising conduit, that would allow donors to benefit from a tax deductible gift.

Through the incredible efforts of the Art Center Board, ARISE played a key role in helping them achieve their goals.

In the fourth quarter of 2019, the Arts Center was successful in getting their 501(c)3 status.

Field of Dreams

ARISE was approached by the committee that was developing a first class baseball field for the youth of Tupper Lake.

Referred to as the “Field of Dreams”, ARISE became the conduit for a fundraising effort that ultimately saw the completion and unveiling in 2019.

Tupper Lake Heritage Walk

The ARISE Board discussed and agreed that it was important to develop a historical tour of Tupper Lake, to show visitors the past, while promoting a new future for the community.

Once the idea was presented, ARISE was successful in attaining a grant from the Aseel Foundation to develop the historical tour.

The Heritage Trail is expected to be unveiled in 2020.

Ski Big Tupper

This was the flagship initiative of ARISE.

Through a grassroots effort, ARISE was able to re-open Big Tupper Ski Area during the review process of the Adirondack Club and Resort.

Using all volunteers, Big Tupper Ski Area was operated on weekends with a huge outpouring of support. The community realized the economic impact as skier visits were felt in local restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, and more.
